Picture Frame - Gold Leaf Plein Air / American Impressionist 16x20/16 x 20

This frame is a new plein air picture frame hand gilded with gold metal leaf, and hand burnished. We refer to this frame as a plein air frame because it is a seamless corner wide gold frame well suited for American impressionist paintings which are often referred to as plein air paintings; however, it is equally appropriate for other artwork, a portrait or even a mirror. This frame is made to accommodate artwork which is 16" x 20". (Please note: the pictures used here are photographs of an identical 8" x 10" exemplar.) The interior dimension of the opening measured from the back (where the artwork is placed) is exactly 16 1/8" x 20 1/8". The additional 1/8" is called "standard allowance" and is added so the artwork fits easily into the frame. The sight dimension of the opening measured from the front is approximately 15 3/8" x 19 3/8". This frame is approximately 3 1/2" wide on its face and 1 1/8" thick along the back edge.
